Archie Bunker's Place  premiered on CBS in September 1979. Archie Bunker's Place was a spinoff of All In The Family, based more on the events at Archie's bar & grill than his house. Archie's wife, Edith, passed away at the beginning of the show's second season. This left Archie to take care of their niece, Stephanie, by himself. During the show's run, Archie turned his bar into a restaurant, gained legal custody of Stephanie, and began dating again after 31 years.
