Charlie's Angels premiered on ABC on September 22, 1976. Charlie's Angels was a show about a detective agency called the Charles Townsend Agency who had a very good reputation forgetting results. Charlie hires usually no more than three female operatives at a time, and they are usually former police officers. The operatives never see Charlie who only contacts the team through the agency's manager, Bosley. Charlie usually has Bosley gather the ladies in the office while he addresses them over a phone intercom. Here he gives them their assignments. The girls are well compensated for the dangers they go through, but none of them ever gets to meet Charlie face to face and that really gets to their investigative curiosity.
