Barbary Coast  premiered on May 4, 1975. Barbary Coast was an ABC production set during the old west backdrop of ol' San Francisco's barbary coast. The show chronicled the exploits of a secret agent Jeff Cable played by William Shatner who used various disquises to solve his missions against the criminals of the 1800's, He had reluctant help from the owner of the Golden Gate gambling casino, Cash Conover (originally played by Dennis Cole in the Pilot and later portyayed by Doug McClure) who Cable had to convince to get help by blackmailing him with the fact he once saved Cash's life.
