Whose Line Is It Anyway? premiered on ABC on August 5, 1998. Based upon UK comedy series of the same name, the show is an improvisational comedy extravaganza. The comedians of the night are given situations, props, and settings and have to make up the comedy as they go. They sometimes work alone, sometimes in pairs, and often as a group. Drew Carey oversees the proceedings, taking suggestions from the audience and giving out random points. But since, as Drew says, the points don't matter it's all just done for fun, as is everything on the show.
