The Ponderosa premiered on PAX on September 9, 2001. The series follows the Cartwrights through the early years before events in the show Bonanza took place. Ben Cartwright, the patriarch of the family, is a 35 year old widower. Together with his sons Adam, Hoss, and little Joe, he struggles to carve a new life out of the wilderness.
