Raising The Bar EpisodesSeason 2

Back To Pazsaz Entertainment Network's Raising The Bar Page

  • Hair Apparent
Jerry defends a barber whose nephew was caught selling crack out of his barbershop, a crime for which the barber is now being tried. Marcus, under department-wide orders from District Attorney Balco to "take the hard line" in prosecuting cases, refuses to give any leeway on the case. Roz decides to start handling cases again, but her first one hits a snag that could ruin a woman's life and the life of her son. Bobbi's divorce proceedings get under way, but it's not too long before she gets thrown a curveball. And Jerry gets ribbed about his hair during a party celebrating his 33rd birthday.

  • Rules Of Engagement
Jerry and Michelle go before a new judge whose courtroom rules are so draconian, they make Judge Kessler's rules seem quaint by comparison. During the case, Michelle becomes smitten with a handsome cop who may be perjuring himself in order to cover up for a bad arrest. Richard defends a pair of elderly twins accused of forging a signature on their dead roommate's welfare check, but the two gentlemen don't seem to understand the gravity of the situation. Marcus scores a date with the borough president's chief of staff, who also happened to be the head juror on a case Marcus lost the week before.

  • The Curious Case Of Kellerman's Button
Jerry gets into a heated conflict with Judge Farnsworth after the jurist punishes a client for Jerry's tardiness. But Jerry is determined to have the last word with a scheme that makes Farnsworth the victim of his own rigid, by-the-book procedures. Roz and Richard team up to defend a young African-American man accused of committing a hate crime against a gay man. Marcus is determined not to plead out the hate crime, especially when his new, politically connected girlfriend puts him in a difficult position with Balco.

  • No Child's Left Behind
Jerry goes up against Balco's zealous prosecution in a child-pornography case. Meanwhile, Bobbi's divorce proceedings take a turn for the worse when her soon-to-be ex exploits a legal loophole, spinning into motion potential life-changing consequences.

  • Is There A Doctor In The House?
Jerry advocates for a woman charged with drug possession, but the case stirs up a conflict between Jerry and Michelle's new cop boyfriend. In addition, Bobbi defends a client battling larceny charges; and Charlie and Judge Farnsworth spend a most interesting dinner together.

  • I'll Be Down To Get You A Taxi, Honey
When Jerry holds court for a man charged with running over a corrupt lawyer, he plays on jury sympathy rather than relying on the facts of the case. Elsewhere, Richard rushes through cases, resulting in a judicial fumble. And Bobbi's divorce proceedings advance.

  • Fine And Dandy
Jerry and Richard both fight for clients who received unjust punishments. Richard thus squares off against Judge Kessler, who also anticipates going out on a first blind date. Meanwhile, Bobbi struggles to adjust to a life-shattering situation involving her ex-husband.

  • Trust Me
Bobbi advocates for a confidential informant who fears his powerful codefendant could have him killed. Jerry tries to assist Bobbi in the case, but his meddling backfires. Elsewhere, Richard tries to help a client by using his own family name as leverage in negotiations.

  • Trout Fishing
It's a battle of wills and wiles between judges when Kessler and Farnsworth tangle over a case involving a mother set to go to prison. And Balco delegates a murder case to Michelle - but the case goes to trial in a brief 48 hours.

  • Making Up Is Hard To Do
Bobbi offers legal help to a woman charged with smuggling drugs - but the involvement of Michelle's cop boyfriend raises questions and eyebrows. Elsewhere, Jerry tries to seal a better deal for his client and wrestles with Marcus over the issue.

  • Bobbi Ba-Bing
Jerry defends a convict accused of killing a fellow inmate, a case made more complex when it's discovered that his client had been wrongly imprisoned. Meanwhile, an overly determined new staffer advocates for a homeless man and slyly finds legal means to sue the city in the case.

  • Beating A Dead Horse
Jerry faces off against Michelle when he defends a heroin-addled pregnant woman. Elsewhere, Roz advocates for a carriage driver accused of abusing a horse and attacking a cop, but surprising details surface in the case.
