The Ricky Gervais Show  premiered on HBO on February 19, 2010. This series is based on Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant's popular series of podcasts of the same name. It revolves around the world of the pair's unusual friend, radio producer Karl Pilkington. Originally a radio program, Gervais and Merchant eventually morphed the show into a podcast where it went on to earn a Guinness World Record in 2007 for being the most-downloaded podcast on the Internet. The series will use the actual podcasts from Gervais, Merchant and Pilkington with the animation expanding upon the stories.
