Suddenly Susan premiered on NBC on September 19, 1996. The series is about a young woman named Susan who realizes on her wedding day that she doesn't like her life. So she decides not to get married and goes back to her old job working at a magazine. The catch is that the magazine editor, and her boss, is her former boyfirend's brother. Luckily for her, he doesn't like his brother much and he gives her a column to do for the magazine called "Suddenly Susan". the show follows her and her fellow magazine employess through their job situation and friendship. The Thanksgiving episode "Cold Turkey" alone (everything goes wrong, including a dead oven repairman played by Rodney Dangerfield, but they eat pizza and have fun in the end) would qualify this show as hip.
