The X-Men was a half hour long cartoon, and is produced by Saban and Graz Entertainment . This is the first actual X-Men series, although the X-Men were originally supposed to be included in the 1988 series, Marvel Action Hour. One episode was produced and shown during the series.
X-Men is based on the popular comic book series by Marvel Comics, about the next link in the human evolution where humans who have a genetic quirk (an X-Factor) that endows these humans with powers beyond normal homo-sapiens. Homo-sapiens are afraid of these mutants and lash out with hate, and some of these mutants fight back.
One man stands out against aggression from both sides, Professor Xavier. A mutant himself, he bands together a group of humans to teach both homo-superior and homo-sapien to live together in peace and to protect homo-sapiens from the Evil mutants who want to rule mankind for the atrocities committed against mutant kind.
Xavier creates a team of mutants to keep the peace and to make an example for the world to see. That team is comprised of Cyclops, Jean Grey (Marvel Girl), Beast, Wolverine, Storm. Rogue, Gambit and Jubilee.
The X-Men ended with 76 episodes. After Graz Entertainment closed their doors, Saban decided to take over for the last 6 episodes. These final 6 episodes had a new look to them with new character designs, backgrounds and color schemes.
